“This was part of a 'piece battle' between myself and a notoriously arrogant writer who had been a thorn in my side since day one. Needless to say, I wrecked him. However, the battle did not really settle any arguments, because most of the judges of the battle were predisposed to dismiss my skill because I am a girl. They took the side of my opponent, both because of his gender and the fact that I was newer to graffiti at this point. The battle really introduced me to a lot of the jealousy and politics involved in being a graffiti writer.”
